Caroline Anderson

Caroline Anderson, Interim President & CEO and Director of Planning at the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA), brings over 20 years of experience to the organization, having served in various leadership roles since 2000. She currently oversees the agency’s strategic direction, planning, and workforce development, and has led major initiatives such as the Tourism Functional Plan and Destination Management Action Plans. Her previous roles include Director of Community Enrichment and Brand Manager, where she focused on community-based tourism and international marketing. A Hawai‘i native, Caroline holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor’s in Travel Industry Management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She is a recipient of the 2025 J. Desmond Slattery Professional Marketing Award and a 2021 PBN Pineapple Awards Honoree.

Todd Apo

Todd Apo is the CEO of ‘Iole, a Global Resilience Hub in Kohala, Hawai‘i, where he leads efforts to develop climate and sustainability solutions rooted in Native Hawaiian knowledge. With a diverse background spanning corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors, Todd has held leadership roles at Disney’s Aulani Resort, the Howard Hughes Corporation, and the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, and served six years on the Honolulu City Council. His work has focused on community engagement, policy, philanthropy, and development. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, he holds a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Hawai‘i and a B.A. from Brown University. He serves on several nonprofit and industry boards and was recently appointed to the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority Board.

Jennifer Chun

Jennifer Chun is the Director of Tourism Research at the Hawai‘i Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), where she leads the Tourism Research Branch in providing strategic insights and data to support tourism planning, marketing, and policy. With over 25 years of experience analyzing Hawai‘i’s tourism industry, she has held leadership roles at the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority and Hospitality Advisors LLC, and worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Jennifer holds a Master’s from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s from Dartmouth College. She is actively involved in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Pacific Asia Travel Association, Travel & Tourism Research Association, and Skål International Hawai‘i, and has received recognition such as DBEDT’s 2021 Manager of the Year.

This is a timely opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue about the evolving landscape of our industry and what lies ahead for tourism in our islands.
