Message from the President

We’re halfway through another extraordinary year and are headed into recovery. Hopefully, we have also been jolted into a “renaissance” in land economics and land use after emerging from Covid struggles that highlighted the fragility of our economy in Hawaii and vast inequities in our community.

Chapter Hosts two Land Economic Weekends (LEW)

In 2003 under the leadership of then Chapter President Mark Hastert, Honolulu was the host location for one of the International Land Economic Weekends (LEW). Attendees were given guided tours of Kakaako, Kapolei, and were treated to a memorable sunset luau at Lanikuhonua.

HAWAII LEW: CULTURALLY INTEGRATED BY DESIGN

Aloha Chapter kicked off the LEW with a President’s Reception aboard the USS Missouri. The closing reception was held at Washington Place, a structure built for Queen Liliuokanlani and currently the Governor’s Residence.
